Surface mining or quarrying of sands and gravels at our Sand & Gravel Division at Turure begins with site preparation involving 5 major activities:

Diversion of perennial streams within the property, implementation of surface water drainage, vegetation clearing, overburden removal using the stripping method.

The material, Pit Run, is then taken to the wash plants where clay and any other unwanted material is washed off. The material is then sieved to obtain the saleable products, such as, Sharp Sand, Silt Sand, 3/8″ aggregate, 3/4″ aggregate etc. These materials are essential in the building of our nation’s infrastructure. We rely on these materials to build our homes, schools, hospitals, business places etc.
